1967 Triumph GT6 Mkl 2.5 PI - $36,900
This car has been comprehensively rebuilt for multiple uses. As a country cruising car, as a competition car and as a club car.
Acquired by the current owner almost twenty years ago, a six year restoration was completed in 2012.
For the comfort angle, the car would be fitted with later type GT6 seats with headrests, trimmed in cream leather. The rest of the interior was trimmed and carpeted to match, with “Jaguar” carpets. Beneath is sound deadening material.
The owner’s intention was to create a car his wife could drive and which could also be used in club level motorsport events. Thus, a more powerful version of the Triumph 6-cylinder unit was built-up for the car. At 2.5 litres, with fuel injection the car’s power output is 130bhp. A stronger gearbox from a Triumph sedan is fitted, with electric overdrive.
Some $40,000 was spent on the build and when finished, the car began appearing at club events. At the Triumph Nationals, it was voted runner-up in the People’s Choice award. Upgrades to the suspension and brakes while refining the car for events saw an additional $12,000 spent.
The result is a potent, predictable sporty coupe which has competed in Albany Round the Houses events, track days at Wanneroo raceway with the VSCC and competed in motorkhanas with the Triumph club. The GT6 has attended Triumph Nationals in 2014, 2018 and 2024. It’s won several trophies…
There’s a Heritage Certificate with this car. The selling dealer was Premier Motors in Perth, WA state distributor for Triumph.
The rebuild was completed some years ago now and there’s the odd chip and blister, but overall it still presents very well. The GT6 drives very well, as one might expect after such a sorting campaign.
If the car sells to a Western Australian buyer the number plates GT6 will be available for $1000, otherwise standard issue plates will be provided.
The owner advises that the car has been very reliable and is keen to point out that it has no oil leaks and never runs hot. On the road it quickly becomes evident that while the car offers plenty of grunt, it can be docile and easy to use in traffic. It’s ready for use as a weekend fun car or in club motorsports.

This 1971 TR6 belonged to well respected Triumph enthusiast John Buck, who was a “driving force” in the TR Register QLD from 1970-2015. Originally from the US, the car was shipped from California to Australia in 1992 where it was converted to RHD with carburetors. John was the 4th owner having purchased in 1999, improving it with a 6th gear overdrive and prestige b&w plates featuring the model and year. Following his passing in 2016 she has been in the loving care of his family, who has kept her safely garaged, serviced and in running order.
John was meticulous with his care and love of TR’s and the ‘6 comes with an impressive ownership log and service history. Dressed in elegant British Racing Green with black leather interior, walnut dashboard, minimal rust, hard top, soft top and a thrumming engine that will instantly make you smile, she certainly is a beauty. Further photos and video can be supplied on request.
Currently registered in QLD and priced at $45,000 ono to the right buyer.
A highly regretful sale due to the car’s sentimental, visual and historic value.

Built for the US market she went directly to California from the UK as LHD with carburettors. Returning to Australia sometime around 2015 and undergoing a complete rebuild in South Australia she morphed into RHD, still with carburettors.
I purchased her in 2018 and have been an active participant in regular TSOA-WA meetings, touring locally from Perth on social days out. It has not been used for any competition events.
Touring from WA to the TSOA National Rally in Tanunda in 2021, she has travelled some 12,000km through South Australia, NSW and Victoria and run like a dream and returned an average of 8L /100km overall. Holds excellent oil pressure.
She has been serviced regularly in my ownership and I have a full photobook history passed on to me of the rebuild and records of servicing are up to date.
New Hood (zipper rear window); tonneau cover; new tyres: travelling boot bag; range of spares for travelling. underfloor heat / sound shielded..
Currently in Moss Vale NSW, to arrange a viewing, or for further information contact me.

Triumph TR4
CT5346
Partially restored - unfinished project.
This was fully stripped back, rust treated, filled and primed - then motivation was lost and it sat in a shed covered.
This is not your standard TR4 motor. It is fully original but it was fully rebuilt, bored and relined, racing pistons, high lift cam, approx 11-1 compression, approximately 140HP. It has only done approximately 20-25k miles since the rebuild.
The original cartridge oil filter has been replaced with a spin-on filter adapter.
All suspension is for racing and road. Extremely rigid drives like a very fast go cart.
It has only been used on the road and NEVER on a race track.
All parts are with it including original bumper’s.
Brakes and clutch were replaced but need the hydraulics checking as it has been sitting for years.
It was last started and running 2 years ago.
Only surface rust as seen in pics. Had new wings and all rust removed and inner panels replaced.
Was fully serviced before taking off the road.
This is a great project for someone to complete and end up with a fun little race car or a classic British car.
Buyer to arrange pickup from Ballogie, Queensland.
More pictures available on request.
Price negotiable. Asking $27500.
